Using silver as a canvas, Katie translates the drawings onto the metal surface using chasing and repoussé and produces wonderlands of nature in unique pieces of jewellery and silverware.
Katie Watson is a silversmith and jeweller who specialises in chasing and repoussé. The designs for Watson's work start with a walk through woodlands, along the coast and across mountains. On these adventures she draws and studies, creating a design enriched by her imagination. Using silver as a canvas, Katie translates the drawings onto the metal surface using chasing and repoussé and produces wonderlands of nature in unique pieces of jewellery and silverware. Katie is based in the Scottish Borders, in the newly established Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop. Katie's work has been exhibited widely, in Edinburgh, London and the Netherlands amongst other places.
