"Third Kiss" is an anamorphic exploration of love, temporality, and parallel paths by Jonty Hurwitz and Yifat Davidoff, not only artistic collaborators but life partners and "cosmic twins," sharing the same year, month, day, and hour of birth. The work, though abstract to the onlooker, magically converges into a discernible form upon reflection in a conical mirror. The tangible yet intangible essence of the piece subtly speaks to the multifaceted nature of relationships, and the visible and hidden dimensions of emotional connection. The unfolding image, an homage to Antonio Canova’s 1794 sculpture "Cupid and Psyche" housed in the Louvre, reflects the multifaceted and time-bending journey the artists have traversed together. It embeds a metaphor that extends beyond mere visual experience, encompassing the depth and breadth of connection, the intersection of two souls moving through the same temporal and spatial reality. This reflection not merely of form, but of their shared existence, encapsulates a moment of love and unity while crediting artistic predecessors who sculpted paths of inspiration through time. In a delicate balance between abstraction and clarity, "Third Kiss" invites viewers to explore love’s dimensions and the beauty that forms when two parallel universes—two lives—gracefully collide and coalesce into a shared journey through time and creativity.
