"Her Soul" is a contemporary anamorphic sculpture by Jonty Hurwitz and Yifat Davidoff. This piece is a modern tribute to the legendary artist Frida Kahlo, renowned for her self-portraits that explored identity, pain, and passion. The sculpture initially appears abstract, a complex amalgam of forms and hues. Yet, when viewed from a certain angle and reflected on a surface, it astonishingly reveals a mystical image of Frida Kahlo. The work creates a dialogue across time. The Baroque period, known for its dramatic, detailed, and emotional richness, resonates with Kahlo's intense and passionate art. This juxtaposition highlights the continuity and evolution of artistic expression, bridging the gap between the past and the present. "Her Soul" is more than a homage; it is a confluence of art, mathematics, and history. It invites viewers to shift their physical and intellectual perspectives to discover the essence of Kahlo's spirit. Much like Kahlo's own life, the sculpture represents the complexity of human experience, urging a deeper engagement with the layers beneath the surface.
